Primark PS Silicone Sponge Review

Price:£2 Available at Primark

The other day I was just having a browse through Primark and decided to go and look at the beauty/makeup section. While looking at the sponges I found this pack of silicone sponges. I remember a little while ago everyone was talking about the SiliSponge. Some people loved it, some people hated it, some people even started making there own from chicken fillets/bra inserts.
On the packet it says "The perfect tool to blend makeup without soaking up any product!".
I like the idea that the sponge doesn't soak up product like a beauty blender so in theory you use less product and that they are easy to clean. But I never felt I needed one of these like I do with some products. So when I found these in Primark for only £2 and you get two in a pack, I thought I would give them a try.

From the appearance they looks exactly like the SiliSponge I can't really see any difference. I wasn't sure what side of it to use as they don't come with any instructions. So I tried both sides just to see if there is any difference and there wasn't really. I started with my normal routine of moisturising and priming my skin. I used the Kat Von D Lock it foundation for this test, I normally use about three pumps of this foundation with a beauty blender. I just started with one pump as this silicone sponge doesn't soak up product and I managed to cover half my face with one pump. Which I am amazed and I agree you do use less product and it is great for saving product. So in a way, it saves you money as you won't run out of your favourite foundation as quick.
The actual application was a bit weird for me. When trying to get the foundation to blend, it doesn't feel as soft as a beauty blender and has a...interesting sound when patting the foundation into the skin. Honestly, I felt like I was just slapping my face with a chicken fillet/bra insert. It wasn't bad for blending but then it wasn't as good at the beauty blender. I felt like I had to pat the product more into my skin than I would with a beauty blender. I found the silicone sponge a bit messy too because as it doesn't absorb the product it just covers the sponge and can end up over your fingers and hands. Though the sponge itself is easier to clean than a beauty blender as you just need to wipe the product off.

My Final Verdict

I honestly prefer the beauty blender as it is softer for blending, not as messy and blends product much better than the silicone sponge. I did like that I used less product and the price and how simple it is to clean. I'm not sure why you get two in this pack, maybe one for a backup or perhaps you could give one to a friend. I actually think the PS Pro Oval brushes I reviewed earlier this year from Primark are a lot better than the silicone sponge. So for now I will stick with my trusty beauty blender.

Have you tried any silicone sponges? If so what are your thoughts?

My Favourite Concealers

Hi everyone, today I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite concealers. These are ones that have worked great for me, everyone may not agree with me but everyone is different when it comes to makeup. I have four pictured but I actually have five to talk about, but you think I could find the fifth one? Nope, unless I used it all up and forgot to replace it. Anyway I have a mixture of high end and drugstore concealers I love so lets get on to talking about each one.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Price: £4.19 Available at Superdrug & Boots

This is the concealer I can't seem to find in my collection unless I didn't replace it when I finished the last one. Anyway out of the concealers I'm talking about this one I have used for years and one I always go back to. It has thick formula and gives great coverage. It is pretty small so perfect for travelling or if you are on the go. The thing that bugs me about this is that it is only available in 4 shades. I personally wish there was a slightly lighter shade. This concealer has been around for years and you think they would of added a few more shades over the years.

NYX Professional Makeup Concealer Wand

Price: £6.00 Available at Boots & Cult Beauty & NYX

This concealer I bought for a festival I was going to last year as I didn't want to take my high end concealer. So I grabbed this as the collection one was out of stock and I'm kinda glad as this was a gem of a find for me, I didn't expect it to be as good as it turned out to be. It doesn't have a thick formula and it feels soft and light when applied. It has pretty good coverage and I found it lasts all day, especially at a festival. It was also a good size for travelling. It also has a better shade range than a few drugstore brands and also has colour correcting shades which I think is pretty great.

NARS Creamy Concealer

Price: £23.00 Available at Nars & ASOS

This concealer I discovered from watching a few Youtube videos. I have very pale skin so it isn't the easiest to find the perfect shade and a lot of the Youtubers who had pale skin raved about this concealer in the shade Chantilly. I have to agree this concealer is pale and perfect for pale skin. They have darker shades and have more of a choice on shades than some brands. It gives a great coverage, has a thick formula and blends really nicely. This one is longer than the previous two but can easily fit into a makeup bag. It is one I have re purchased a few times.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

Price:£28.00 (includes blending sponge) Available at QVC

So, if you haven't heard of this concealer then I don't know where you have been. As everyone has been talking about this for the past year or so. I will be honest I did buy it cause people were saying how great it is and I wanted to try it for myself to see if the rumours where true. What I found is that the rumours were true. The formula is thick and coverage is great and I find a little goes a long way. It is available in 6 shades and the lightest shade is what I use and great for pale skin. I found this to be bigger than what I expected especially the wand. The only problem with this is it is only available in the UK at QVC and the lightest shades sell out quick and takes a while to restock them.

Kat Von D Lock It Crème Concealer

Price: £20.00 Available at Debenhams

Finally we have Kat Von D's Lock It Concealer. Kat Von D Beauty is my favourite makeup brand, everything I've used just works so well on me. So when the range came to Debenhams I bought this along with the foundation but to be honest you don't really need it with the foundation. It has a thick formula and gives good coverage. What I love about this one is how many shades are available and there is even a white one. So all my fellow pale people can have a concealer that works. The size is the same length at the NARS just a little wider.

Well those were 5 of my favourite concealers, there are still more I want to try so who knows this could change in a year.
Are any of these concealers your favourites? Is there any here you want to try? Comment and let me know.

Five Mascaras For Under £5

Wow I can't believe it is already April? Where is this year going!? So I had a sort out of my makeup recently and going through it, I discovered that none of my mascaras are drugstore and are very expensive. This made me think there must be a good mascara out there that doesn't cost a small fortune. Also with festival season approaching I don't like to take my expensive makeup with me in case it gets ruined. So I managed to find 5 mascaras that cost under £5 and put them to the test.

Rimmel London Extra Super Lash Rita Ora Black 101

Price: £4.99 Available at Superdrug

The first mascara is the Rimmel London Extra Super Lash Rita Ora Black 101. This mascara claims "Reaches all lashes, even the ones at the inner and outer corners of the eyes. Lash building formula for highly defined lashes."
It is also:
  • waterproof
  • fade proof
  • up to 24 hour wear
  • intense colour that lasts all day and all night
  • lightweight
  • easy removal
  • glossy finish
  • enhances eye look
This mascara claims to do a lot for under £5 which if it lives up to then I may have found my new mascara.
The packaging is fine, it doesn't wow me but it doesn't bother me either. The actual applicator I like as its a brush applicator and not a plastic applicator. I prefer brush applicators as I feel they coat the lashes a lot better than plastic.

The image above shows the mascara on my eye with one coat. I only put one coat on as my lashes were clumping together so who knows what it would look like with two coats. But you can see the pigment is there and my lashes do look black. I would say it has made my lashes look a little longer but overall I am not really impressed by this mascara. If you like clumpy eyelashes then you will love this mascara.

Miss Sporty Lash Millionaire Mascara Black 1

Price: £3.49 Available at Superdrug

Miss Sporty I haven't used or worn since I was in school. I've read and watch some reviews on there mascaras and heard some good things so I decided to include one of them. I choose the Lash Millionaire Mascara in the shade black 1. This one claims "Lash Millionaire has all it takes in one mascara for richer volume, breathtaking length and perfect lash separation." It pretty much claims everything I want in a mascara apart from being waterproof which I can live with.
The packaging is pretty simple and again it doesn't wow or bother me. The applicator is a brush which is a plus for me but in a different shape to the Rimmel one. It has a slight groove to it which is slightly similar to one of my favourite mascaras Too Faced Better than Sex.

The image above shows how the mascara turned out on my lashes. I quite liked this one for under £5. I only applied one coat and it didn't clump like the Rimmel and it made my lashes look longer and a bit fuller. I wouldn't say it separated my lashes too great but for under £5 I am actually impressed.

Primark PS Volumising Mascara

Price: £1 Available at Primark

I guess technically this isn't a drugstore mascara but it will still under £5 and is the cheapest out of the five. This wasn't the mascara I wanted from Primark but it was on the only they had in stock and hadn't been opened. This mascara only claims to be volumising from the name.
The packaging is pretty similar to the Miss Sporty one and is pretty basic. The applicator is a brush and is opposite in shape to the Miss Sporty one in a way.

The image above shows the mascara on my lashes. To be fair this wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be but it still isn't great. I wasn't really expecting a lot for a £1 mascara. I kept getting small clumps of mascara on my lashes and I tried to brush them out with the applicator as best as I could. I also found this mascara to be the messiest of the 5 as it would just go everywhere.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black

Price: £4.99 Available at Superdrug Boots & FeelUnique

This mascara has been around for a long time, I remember using this in school. It was always one of those items at my school that all the cool girls used and if you didn't use it then you wasn't cool. Well this mascara claims to be "America's favourite mascara."
It also claims:
  • Conditions as it thickens
  • Lash-building brush makes it easy to get a full lash look without clumps
  • Lash doubling formula glides on smoothly to build great-looking lashes
  • Contact lens safe
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Washable
  • Blackest black shade contains extra pigments for intense colour
From what it claims I can see why it's America's favourite mascara.
The packaging is very eye catching with the bright pink and green you can't really miss it. What I like about this mascara is that it is quite small and great for travelling and I think it was one reason it was popular at school cause it would fit nicely into bags and pockets. The applicator is quite small and is a brush not plastic.

The image above shows how the mascara looks on my lashes. I can see why I liked this back in school, it made my lashes look longer and you can build this mascara up. For under £5 I do like this mascara and I like how I can take it on the go with me. At the moment I would say this one is my favourite.

MUA Amplify Mascara Black

Price: £3.00 Available at Superdrug

The final mascara is from MUA and a brand I've not used before. This mascara claims "Maximum coverage, volumizing mascara for impactful lashes. Layer and coat from root to tip for deep, intensified colour achieving an ultimate statement-lash effect."
The packaging is again simple and this is the only mascara of the five with a plastic applicator which I'm not a fan of.

The image above shows how my lashes look with the mascara. I have to say that this mascara made my lashes look black. Out of the 5 I would say this one made my lashes look the blackest. It clumped my lashes a little but nothing that bothered me. My lashes don't look longer, but look a little fuller. If you want your lashes to look black then this is the mascara for you.

Final Thoughts

It was fun trying some new brands and going back to old ones I had forgotten about.Testing out and revisiting these mascaras I will be honest, they have not made me want to change from my higher brand mascaras. My favourite of these mascaras would be the Maybelline one and the Miss Sporty one in second place as they worked better for me. Do you love or hate any of these mascaras? If so what are you thoughts?

L'Oréal Limited Edition Beauty and the Beast

Lipstick Price: €9.99 Available at Amazon Italy

Nail Polish Price: €6.99 Available at Amazon Italy

I've been wanting to share these with you all for ages, but I wanted to wait until I saw the movie first. I loved the movie, I thought it was brilliant and I think this is how Disney should do all the remakes of there animated films. I would recommend everyone to go and see it.
Lets get back on topic now with the makeup. Back in February L'Oréal released a limited edition Beauty and the Beast lipstick and nail varnish collection. Which everyone was super excited for but the downside was, it was only available in Italy. Which I don't really understand why if anything I thought they would maybe make it exclusive to France as that's were Beauty and the Beast is set. The complete set is no longer available but you can buy individual items on amazon Italy but bare in mind you may have to pay extra for postage and any custom charges. There are some for sale on eBay but they are super expensive on there. But I will be doing a giveaway on Instagram for four lucky people to win a brand new lipstick.
When I first saw the collection I fell in love with it and knew I had have it if not some of the items. When I looked more into it there was only certain ones I wanted as they were shades I liked and can see me actually wearing. So the lipstick shades I got were The Rose (335 Carmin St Germain), Belle (377 Perfect Red), Beast (703 Oud Obsession) and Lumiere (231 Sepia Silk). The nail polish shades I got were Belle (550 Rouge Sauvage) and Beast (668 Blue Royal).

(Left to Right: The Rose, Belle, Beast and Lumiere)

I have a confession and this might sound crazy but, I have never tried L'Oréal lipsticks before, so this is also a bit of a first impressions for me. Well lets start with the packaging and lets be honest, this is what this collection is mainly about. I think each one is beautiful, my favourite is The Rose, though Beast is a close second. They all represent there associated character well. The Rose and Belle both have a soft velvet material on them with foil pattern/images on them. Lumiere has a plastic cover that has a sort of raised pattern on and I like for the melting candle wax they put the lipstick shade instead of white. Beast has a fabric on but not as soft as Belle or The Rose and has foil scratch marks.

(Left to Right: The Rose, Belle, Beast and Lumiere)

The lipsticks are actually from L'Oréal Color Riche collection. They all have great pigment though I didn't get to see it much on my lips with Lumiere as it is very close to my actual lip colour but it did when I swatch it. They have a creamy formula and applied smoothly to the lips. I would say they give a satin finish rather than matte or gloss finish. They do have quite a strong scent to them and the scent does disappear but I can imagine there are some of you that won't like the strong scent when applying.

(Left to Right: Belle and Beast)

I will be honest, I was more interested in the lipsticks rather than the nail polishes. But I really loved the shade of Beast and I don't actually own a red nail polish so I decided to get Belle as well (plus I didn't want Beast to be alone). The handles are the same as the packaging for the lipsticks, which I love. I've not testing the actual nail polish formula yet but once I do I will share my thoughts on them.

Overall this collection is perfect for any Beauty and the Beast fans out there. With the hype being over the packaging the actual products themselves are actually pretty good. There are some items still available on amazon Italy. But if you don't want to pay out I will be doing a giveaway on my Instagram for a chance for 4 of you to win a brand new lipstick.

Is there a shade you love? Or was there any characters you wish they included?

Battle of the Drugstore Lip Kits

Ever since Kylie Cosmetics launched, the lip kits have been a must have for any makeup fan. Retailing at $26 they are not the cheapest and that is not including postage and packaging. If you don't live in the United States, chances are you will have to pay customs so overall you are spending a small fortune on one lip kit.
Recently I have found some drugstore brands releasing there own lip kits in the U.K for a much lower price and I wanted to see if these are just as good, if not better than Kylie Cosmetics lip kits. So here are my first impressions/reviews of some lip kits from Barry M, Makeup Revolution and Lottie London.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip kit

Price:£4.99 - £6.99 Available at :Superdrug & Boots

Barry M is one of those brands I know of but never really use. I've bought plenty of there nail polishes in my time but I've never really tried anything else, so I was quite excited to try these. There are currently 3 shades available which are Runway, Go To and Pose. I did buy all 3 but I can't seem to find Pose.
Let's first talk about the packaging. Out of all 3 brands this has the smallest packaging, which I like. Each one has the colour of the shade as the packaging and its pretty true to what the actual lip pencil and lip paint shade is. It is clean and simply and I think the little logo on the front is cute.

Out of all 3 brands this is the only lip kit where the lip liner is a actual pencil. Which I actually prefer as I can actually sharpen it and get a decent point back when I've used it a few times. The lip paint has a bit of a chemical smell to it but it's not too strong.

(Left to Right: Runway and Go To)

From swatches they had great pigment. When applied to the lips, they applied very well. The lip liner was smooth and creamy and the lip paint has a more of a liquid formula I would say very similar to Kylie Cosmetics formula. On the lips it needed a bit of time to dry and when dry it was comfortable and felt like there was nothing on my lips and it was not sticky. There was no patchiness and had great pigment on the lips. There was a very tiny bit of transfer on the kiss test and I mean very tiny, like you really had to look for it.

Overall I really like this product. I think it is very close to Kylie Cosmetics lip kits and for the price you can't argue with it. I just hope in the future they will release more shades. It also has made me want to try more products of Barry M.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit

Price:£6.00 Available at: Superdrug

Makeup Revolution is a brand I've never used before but to me it is a brand that uses ideas from higher price brands and makes there own version for a cheaper price. Which I guess is good in a way if you can't afford the higher brands. There are 8 shades currently available, Noble, Echelon, Glory, Grandee, Magnificent, Regal, Reign and Royal. I got Noble and Echelon to test out.
First of all packaging, this has the biggest packaging out of the 3 brands. I like the black and it has lips on the front similar to Kylie Cosmetics. One thing that bugs me is that the lips represent the shade of the lip kit and I found this misleading as the lips on the packaging are a lot darker than the shades of the lip products in the kit. I was hoping Echelon to be a bit more red but it is more of a nude shade. I'm not sure if this is for all 8 shades but it is for the 2 shades I got.

The lip liner is similar to Kylie Cosmetics in the plastic which I don't like cause I always feel you should move something at the bottom to make more product come out. The liquid lipstick has a chemical smell but it is very faint.

(Left to Right: Noble and Echelon)

Both kits had good pigment from swatches. They applied well to the lips, the lip liner was smooth and creamy just like Kylie Cosmetics. The liquid lipstick took a while to dry and it had more of a creamy formula and was very sticky. My lips kept getting stuck together and my lips did not feel comfortable at all with this on. There was good pigment I must admit and on the kiss test there was some transfer.

Overall I wasn't keen on this lip kit. I liked the lip liner as it was creamy and smooth to apply and was good pigment but it was the actual liquid lipstick that let this lip kit down big time. It is great they have more of a selection of shades but the formula of the liquid lipstick just wasn't for me, I can't stand having my lips stick together.

Lottie London Slay All Day Lip Kit

Price:£8.95 Available at: Superdrug

Lottie London is a brand I've not used before and one brand I've been dying to try as I've heard good things about them. In the lip kits there are 4 shades available which are, Fleek, Hey Bae, #TBT, Werk It. I got the shades Hey Bae and Werk It.
The packaging is smaller than the Makeup Revolution but a bit bigger than Barry M. There is a lot more going on the packaging but I like it. Similar to the Makeup Revolution the colour of the lips shows the shade of the lip kit. Only issue I has was getting the actual liquid lipstick out of the box.

The lip liner in this kit is the same as Kylie Cosmetics in the plastic. I won't repeat my views on this as I don't want to bore you. The liquid lipstick has a scent which kind of reminds me of washing up liquid or gel soap. It's not terrible, just a bit odd, its quite hard to describe but it is not a strong scent.

(From Left to Right: Hey Bae and Werk It)

Again, the kits had great pigment from the swatches. The lip liner was creamy and smooth when applied to the lips. The liquid lipstick was more of a creamy formula, and dried pretty quick and was very comfortable and felt like there was nothing on my lips which is what I like. The formula kind of reminded me of Nyx soft matte lip creams, which are one of my favourite liquid lipsticks. There was no patchy areas and similar to the Barry M on the kiss test, there was only a very tiny amount of transfer.

Overall I really like this kit and can't wait to try more from Lottie London. The lip liner reminds me of Kylie Cosmetics and the liquid lipstick reminds me of Nyx soft matte lip cream. I hope Lottie London releases more shades in the future.

The Winner...

For me it is very close between Barry M and Lottie London. Makeup Revolution is out for the misleading colour on the packaging and the horrible sticky lips it gives when applied. If I was going for formula similarity to Kylie Cosmetics I would go with Barry M. The lip liner is smooth and creamy and the fact it is a actual pencil I give it extra points because it will be so much easier to sharpen. The liquid lipstick formula reminds me of Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipstick the only difference being the scent. The down side is the limited amount of shades.
With Lottie London the lip liner again is smooth and creamy (to be fair all 3 kits had great lip liners). The creamy formula of the liquid lipstick I actually prefer as I feel I don't have to worry about the product leaking out. I feel it also nourishes the lips more than liquid formula. Again the down side is the limited amount of shades.
So for me I will say both Barry M and Lottie London win for me.

Have any of you tried any of these products?
If yes what is your favourite?
If no what would you want to try?

Kylie Cosmetics Valentine's Collection

Available at kyliecosmetics (some items are no longer available)

I'm a bit late to the game with this but I've only received these, this week. Kylie Cosmetics released a valentines makeup collection. There was quite a bit to this collection, there was two new lip kits, Kylie's dairy which was a eye shadow palette with her first 2 blushes. Mini liquid lipsticks and 3 mini kits that came with a mini matte liquid lipstick and gloss.
I managed to get my hands on the mini liquid lipsticks and one of the mini eye shadow kits called Kiss Me.

Mini Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Price: $36

When the collection was first announced this was the item I was most excited about. I already own one of the lip kits and I really like it and I wanted more colours to try. But the lip kits are not cheap and living in the U.K means I have to pay custom charges. So I thought these would be great to have a variety of colours without spending loads. You don't get the lip liners with it but I can live with that as I don't always line my lips.
In this set you get 3 new shades, Apricot, High Maintenance and Head Over Heels as well as 3 classics, Maliboo, Posie K and Mary Jo K. They all have the same strong sweet vanilla cake smell to them just like the full size versions. I love the scent of them but I can understand how some people may not like the scent as it is strong.

(Left to Right: Apricot, Maliboo, High Maintenance, Posie K, Head Over Heels, Mary Jo K)

Lets firstly talk about the new shades. Apricot is a peachy nude colour and I can see how this is a popular colour and how it has been made a permanent shade. For me though, it is a shade that just doesn't look good on me as I think I am too pale for it. In fact this is my least favourite shade from this set, but I think it would look great on darker skin tones. It applied well and wasn't patchy and dried down to a matte finish. It feels comfortable on the lips, so comfortable in fact I forgot I was wearing it.
High Maintenance is a dusty pink shade and is great if you want to create a cute girly look with your makeup. It applies the same and feels the same as Apricot and had no patchy areas. I don't mind this colour but it still not my favourite.
Head Over Heels is a beautiful deep plum shade and also has been made a permanent shade. I can see why it has been made permanent as it is my favourite shade from all the mini's. It feels the same as the others and with one coat it is patchy but with another coat it was fine for me. I think this would work better with a lip liner so I may end up buying the full size lip kit when my mini runs out.
I did try the classic shades and they all have the same formula as the new ones and I really liked them especially Posie K. I don't want to talk or bore you with them too much as these shades have pretty much been reviewed over a million times.

Kiss Me Mini Set

Price: $22

I've wanted to try Kylie's eye shadows for a while but I didn't want to spend out on a full palette and pay customs on something I may not like so, when I saw these mini sets and it came with a liquid lipstick and gloss, I thought they were perfect. There were 3 mini sets, Kiss Me, Smooch and Sweet Heart. I went for Kiss Me as I thought I could create a pretty day look with them.
Now as you can probably see in the picture above, one of my shadows arrived broken and I've tried to fix it and I am missing the gloss. Not going to lie I am pretty annoyed with this and I have emailed them about it, just waiting for a email back. So I can't give a full opinion on this product but I will try with what I got.

The mini matte liquid lipstick is in the shade dirty peach and has the same formula as the other liquid lipsticks. The gloss well, I can't say much as it never arrived. The matte shadow shade is Sweet Thing and the shimmer/glitter shade is Main Squeeze. I was pleasantly surprised with the pigments from the shadows especially Sweet Thing, I read the matte shades had great pigment but I didn't realise how much pigment they had till I tried this. Main Squeeze was the broken shadow and also the shadow I was most excited about.

The image above shows the look I created with the shadows. I found the matte shade, Sweet Thing, easy to apply and blended beautifully. Main Squeeze I found I had to use my finger to apply to get it to show. But to be fair a lot of shimmer shadows from other brands I find they apply better with using my fingers. Overall I really like these shadows and I may buy one of the full size palettes in the future.

Would I recommend these products?

First these actual products aren't available anymore but there are full size lip kits of some shades from the sets available. The mini liquid lipsticks I would recommend if you are new to Kylie Cosmetics and not sure what shade of liquid lipstick you want and just want to play around. I know she has done other mini collections in the past so if you want a mini collection I would recommend you keep and eye out in the future as I doubt this will be her last one.
The mini set I can't really give my full opinion on as how it arrived I didn't receive it all and it arrived damaged. Don't let this put you off I have bought other things from Kylie Cosmetics before and they have always been fine. I do think though that Kylie should really look into having distributors in other countries. As I would buy a lot more of her products if I didn't have to pay custom charges every single time and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Did anyone else manage to get there hands on any of Kylie's Valentines Collection? If so what did you get?

Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together Review

Price: £18.00-£57.00 Available: Debenhams

Too Faced and Kat Von D have joined forces to create this beautiful limited edition collection inspired by friendship, love and a passion for makeup. Ever since this collection was announced, I have been so excited to get my hands on it. Living in the U.K I have had to wait that little bit longer, but the wait is finally over!
I just love the idea behind the collection. There are 3 sets for this collection: Better Together-Ultimate Eye Collection, Better Together-Cheek and Lip Makeup Bag and Better Together-Bestselling Mascara and Liner Duo. I didn't purchase the mascara and liner duo and there are full sized ones with the eye collection. The item from this collection I was most excited about was the eye shadow palette.

Better Together-Cheek and Lip Makeup Bag

Price: £33

I will be honest with you all, the main reason I bought this was for the makeup bag as it is super cute. One side you have Kat's cat Piaf and the other side is Jerrod's dog Clover. Even the little zipper has each brands logo on either sides, which I found a nice little touch. It's not a large bag but perfect for little bits to pop into your handbag when you are on the go. You get four mini makeup items with this set.

The first two mini's are from Too Faced which are Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo and Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush. On first appearance of these, the packaging reminds me of a kids toy. The packaging is just plastic and I find it kind of cheap, I've not used the full size of these items so I don't know really if the full sizes are like these.
The blush itself is a pretty pink colour with a shimmer to it. It doesn't have a strong pigment but you can build the colour and is a lovely colour when applied to the apples of the cheeks.
The highlight duo first of all I love the candelabra image in the blush, I really didn't want to test it as I didn't want to ruin how pretty it looks. When I eventually used it, I like the colour of the highlight and is very pretty for a soft highlight. It's not the most blinding highlight but if you are someone that prefers and soft looking highlight, then this highlight is perfect for you.

The other two mini's included are Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in the shade Muse and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade XO. I own plenty of the liquid lipsticks and there one of my favourites liquid lipsticks. So I'm not going to talk much about how much I love it as I've mentioned them before. So all I will say is XO is a dark pinky/redish colour and is also a colour I don't own. The studded kiss lipstick on the other hand I don't own many of but I love the packaging of these. The colour is a nude colour with a sort of shimmer/sheen to it. I can actually see me wearing this colour a lot. It applied well and feels comfortable on the lips.

Better Together-Ultimate Eye Collection

Price: £57

This product is what I was so excited to try. It is a bit on the pricey side but it does comes with a full size Tattoo Liner and Better Than Sex Mascara. So you can do a complete eye look with the whole collection.

As I mentioned it comes with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner. The mascara makes my lashes full and look longer but personally I prefer the waterproof version of the mascara. Don't get me wrong this is a good mascara and if you don't like waterproof mascaras then give this one a go, but I have always preferred waterproof mascara's. I also think the packaging for the waterproof version is brilliant.
The Tattoo Liner on the other hand is my favourite liquid liner ever. It just applies a clean, neat, bold wing effortlessly. It is also waterproof and just lasts all day and doesn't wear off. When ever I get asked for a liquid liner I always recommend this one and I personally can't live without it.

Now the most exciting item from the collection, well for me anyway. This eye palette is so cool, I love how you can pull them apart or put them together. I also love how both sides represents each brands look and both of the founders style. I think it is cute as there are little messages from Kat and Jerrod talking about there friendship and love and respect for each other. The packaging for me is just perfect. Also all the names of the shadows are somewhat linked to friendship.

Let's start with the Too Faced side. So the eye shadows are in heart shapes which is used in some of there eye shadow palettes. There are 2 matte shades and 4 shimmers, but no actual transition shade which is a little disappointing. My favourite shade is Friendspiration which is a golden shimmer shade. It applies so well and blends perfectly and just the perfect golden shimmer shade. All the shades feel smooth and creamy and all pretty much applied very well.

This is an eye look a created with the Too Faced side. I used BFF all over as a base, I used Lovely in the crease. Friendspiration all over the lid and underneath the eye and I used Power Couple and Better Together lightly in the crease and on the outside of the lid. All the shadows blended well and were easy to apply.

Now on to the Kat Von D side. You get 3 mattes and 3 shimmers on this side but still no real matte transition side which is disappointing. My favourite is Swoon which is a beautiful red shimmer shade and has amazing pigment and is my favourite shadow from all 12 shades. All the shadows feels smooth and creamy just like the Too Faced side.

This is the look I created with Kat's side. Seriously Swoon is just the perfect red for me, it is so easy to apply and the pigment is unbelievable. For this look I used Por Vida as a base and then when in with Yours in the crease. I applied a mixture of Darling and Lovestruck on the inner eyelid and applied Swoon in the middle and in the crease and under the eye. I also added a little of Devotion on the outside.

I wanted to create a look with both sides of the palette, trying to use as many colours as I could, so this is what I created. I used BFF as a base and I used Lovely in the crease. Friendspiration on the inner eye and underneath the eye. I used swoon on the middle and outer of the eye. I used better together, Yours and a dash of Devotion on the outside of the eye and crease.

Overall all I adore this palette. The colours are beautiful and blended like a dream. I only wish there was a transition shade to make it perfect. For being quite pricey it honestly doesn't bother me with especially how beautiful the shadows are and how well they work.

Would you recommend these items?

I would recommend the ultimate eye collection to anyone, whether they are new or old to the world of makeup. The shadows are beautiful colours and blend easily and you also get the best liquid liner in my opinion included and a good mascara. It may be a bit pricey but honestly I think it is worth the money.
The cheek and lip makeup bag I think is a great way for trying out both brands with the mini's you get but I do think it is expensive for what is is.
Out of the two sets I would recommend the eye collection without a doubt for the reasons I said.

Has anyone else tried these products? If so what do you think? Or are you thinking of getting them? I would love to know your thoughts.
